STRAIGHT FROM THE CAMEL'S
PACK~
Noticed the absence of the Red Camel newsletter this spring? If you
have, you're right. I've been involved in a new project for The Red
Camel that required a lot of my time and attention and kept me from
sending out newsletters and all but a few sneak peeks. Now that project
is near completion and is almost ready to unveil. And of course enewsletter
subscribers are the first to know about it!
I'll try to make this as brief as possible, but there is a lot to tell
you and I'm fairly bursting with excitement about it! So... here goes!
Beginning
the evening of JUNE 22nd, the Red Camel will begin the move to its *NEW*
web site. Please bear with us until this change is completed. There
could be interruptions in accessing the web site and in sending email
to me at deb@redcamel.net.
If you send an email and I don't respond within 24 hours, please try
sending it again.
Many hours were spent making sure that this new web site will be both
easy for me to maintain and easy for you to navigate and use. What else
will this mean for you? Lots of great things! Almost every single feature
that you loved about The Red Camel is still available, but we've added
lots of new features that will make shopping much easier.
First of all, it will mean you don't have to contact me to place
orders, you can order directly from the web site. You can still
pay via Paypal, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. You
can order with checks and money orders directly from the site. International
customers can also order directly from the site.
There are only two things that will no longer be available. The first
is that 'holds' will be going away since they are no longer necessary.
Your items will be removed from the web site the minute your order is
placed. The second is that the 'Sold Items' page will no longer be
available. I know a lot of you used this page as a resource but
unfortunately I couldn't justify the extra time spent maintaining a
page like this with the new format.
I do think you'll find that the new features will more than outweigh
the deletion of the 'Sold Items' page. You will now be able to keep
a wish list and purchase gift certificates directly from the web site.
The photos of the products are much larger and there is more information
directly on the web site about each item. The site also supports formatting
for mobile devices, so the growing number of you that come to the site
via those devices will have an easier time navigating.
There is a whole lot to explore on the new site and I couldn't fit it
all in this newsletter, so please take a look during the week of June
22 through June 30, 2010. The new store is fully stocked WITH NEW
ITEMS that have recently arrived and were not available on the old
site. When you have a chance, let me know how you like it. As always,
I am available by email for any questions or comments about the new
site or any of my items. Just drop me a message at deb@redcamel.net.
Technical Stuff: The new website is optimized for Firefox and
IE8, plus Safari and Chrome browsers. IE6 and IE7 will also work with
the new site, but will look ever-so-slightly different. (If you haven't
upgraded to IE8, now might be a good time to do it!)
The eNewsletter will resume it's regular schedule from now on. Thanks
for sticking with me for so long and I hope to see you again in two
months. Thanks for being an eNewsletter subscriber!
